The Holy Bible gives us specific instruction about what we are to do with our minds:
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
Renewal of the mind comes from study of, and believing, God’s Word – the Holy Bible. This in turn transforms the believer in a powerful way. It enables us to “…grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ…” (Ephesians 4:15b), and be conformed to the image of the Lord Jesus Christ (see Romans 8:29b). Glory to God!
Knowledge of, and faith in God’s Word enables the Christian to approach matters with God’s wisdom as the guide. “For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 2:16).
Whatever the need, God has the answer. If we want to perceive situations the way God does, and take hold of the solutions He offers, we need to renew our minds — and build up our faith to act on His Word — through study of the Bible, meditating on it and believing it.
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)
When the answer is revealed to you, follow God’s leading and act on His Word. Obedience keeps the believer in the will of God.
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…” (James 1:22a).
